Capture tasks, reminders, and follow-ups
Give a promise a clear next action before it gets lost in a busy day.
A sample action and an optional sample project.
Task, reminder, and follow-up capture share the ActionItem workflow. Planned dates, deadlines, defer dates, and waiting status have distinct purposes.
Quick Capture
Open capture and enter one action per line. Choose task, reminder, or follow-up as appropriate.
Each item describes a concrete outcome.

Quick Capture
Open capture and enter one action per line. Choose task, reminder, or follow-up as appropriate.
Expected: Each item describes a concrete outcome.
Organize
Assign the project, tags, priority, or flag you need. Keep classification simple enough to maintain.
Expected: The action is findable in a useful view.
Separate dates
Use Planned date for intent, Deadline for the commitment, and Defer date to control availability.
Expected: The timing reflects what each date actually means.
Choose a working view
Compare Inbox, Available, Today, and Forecast. Inspect Waiting or Flagged when useful.
Expected: The view surfaces the work you mean to act on now.
Complete or repeat
Complete a sample individual task. If repeat is configured, inspect the next occurrence and the completed record.
Expected: The history remains and the next occurrence is distinct.
If something differs
- A waiting, deferred, dependency-blocked, or paused-project task may not appear in Available.
- Repeats apply to individual tasks, not repeating entire task trees; local capture does not silently create Apple Reminders.
